Below is a description of the journey itself, the wineries we we will visit and the historical sites that sets it all in a larger context of the past and present Macedonia.
You will stay at the comfortable 5-star Skopje Marriott Hotel throughout your stay, located at the main square with short walking distance to most sites in the city centre.
Tuesday
21:00 Travel to Skopje
We will travel with a direct flight from Torp Sandefjord to Skopje, with WizzAir. The flight takes approximately 3 hours.
00:10 Arrival Skopje Airport
Shortly after arrival we will be picked up and have a comfortable 30 minutes drive Skopje where you will check in to the The Marriott.
Wednesday
10:00 Sopot Winery - lunch and wine tasting
Nestled at the foot of the Veles hills, Chateau Sopot is a picturesque winery offering a blend of breathtaking scenery and exceptional wines. We will get a tour of the winery and its history prior to lunch in the midst of the vines. The winery is a 45 minute drive to the outskirts of the city of Veles.
18:00 Kamnik Winery - dinner and wine tasting
Kamnik is Macedonia’s most awarded winery, known for blending ancient traditions with modern winemaking. Founded in 2004, it quickly gained international acclaim, winning top honors at the 2013 Decanter Awards. With a capacity of 120,000 liters, Kamnik produces wines that reflect the spirit and soil of Macedonia in a contemporary style. The winery is located just outside Skopje, a short 15 minute drive.
Thursday
Our day begins with a scenic one-hour drive south of Skopje to one of North Macedonia’s most important archaeological sites - Stobi. Once a city of the Roman Empire, Stobi is renowned for its beautifully preserved mosaics that depict scenes of everyday life. Archaeologists have also discovered that wine was produced and enjoyed here nearly two thousand years ago — a perfect link to the winery we will visit later in the day.

12:00 Tikveš Winery - lunch and wine tasting
The Tikveš Winery is an esteemed winery in the Tikveš region, Macedonia’s wine heartland. The region has a centuries-old winemaking tradition dating back to the Roman Empire. Known for producing rich, vibrant wines, this legacy continues thanks to generations of skilled wine-growers and the visionaries behind Tikveš Winery.
Since 1885, Tikveš has combined ideal natural conditions with modern technology and expert craftsmanship to become the largest and most awarded winery in Southeastern Europe.
We will get insight into the region's wine-making traditions and innovations through a guided tour of the winery before tasting their wines with a paired lunch menu. We will be back in Skopje approximately at 4 pm.
19:30 Dinner
To end the day, we’ll enjoy dinner at Skopski Merak, one of Skopje’s most beloved traditional restaurants. Here we’ll experience true Macedonian hospitality in a warm, lively setting with seasonal, homemade flavours. The restaurant is located a short walk from the hotel in a vibrant area of the city.
Friday
12:00 Lunch
Join us for lunch in the city of Skopje. We will explore some local specialities in the Old Town.
17:00 Brzanov Winery - dinner and wine tasting
Antonio Brzanov describes himself as a hedonist and wine lover. In 2004 he started creating his artistic and unique wines that originate from the sunny vineyards of North-Macedonia. We will visit his vineyard and home and Antonio will prepare his culinary specialities that we will pair with his beautiful wines. His home is located 20 minutes from Skopje.

14:30 Transport from The Marriott to Skopje Airport
